Under the direct supervision of the Shift Leader/Cafeteria management, the Food Service Associate - Cashier performs the function of cash handling/register operations and other related food service activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accountable for accuracy and /or variances in cash reconciliation. Operates a cash register and/or checks student meal tickets. Collects money from customer. Required to know the value of the items for which the money is being received. Records amounts received and prepare reports of transactions. Reading cash register tapes and verifying against cash on hand. Maintains cleanliness, neatness of own register workstation May wipe down tables, stands, displays and shelves. Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. Displays prompt and courteous service to customers and are able to communicate effectively with them.
