About The Position

Under supervision, to assist in the quantity preparation and serving of food on campus and in the school cafeteria; to assist in maintaining food services facilities in a clean and sanitary condition; follow standard safety procedures, and to do related work as required.

Requirements

Experience working in a quantity food operation or any combination of training and/or experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities
High school diploma
Serve - Safe Certification within one year of employment is encouraged
Ability to stand, sit, walk, twist, stoop, crouch, climb, kneel, bend over, grasp, reach overhead, push, pull, lift, and to carry 0 to 40 pounds at above head height.
Ability to sustain physical work, requires strength and endurance associated with heavy physical effort.
Ability to read
Ability to stand for extended periods on cement floors
Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels
Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to walk long distances
Ability of hands to grasp and manipulate small objects
Ability to reach in all directions
Operate utility vehicle

Responsibilities

Assists in the preparation of vegetables, fruits and other foods for cooking
Prepares a variety of salads
Performs routine cooking tasks such as preparation of items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, burritos, and French fries
Packs box lunches, sells lunches, snacks, soft drinks and other food items and counts money, with the use of computerized terminals
Cleans and stores dishes, utensils, and other equipment
Receives and stores foods and supplies
Cleans work areas and disposes of refuse
Washes and prepares an assortment of hot and cold vegetables
Sets out coffee for meetings
Makes change, run daily sales report with use of computerized cash machine
Deep fries a variety of items
Slices meats and prepares a variety of sandwiches
Heat and serve prepared foods
Stock snack bar daily and restores merchandise at close of day
Cleans dining areas
Washes dishes and trays
Trains student helpers
Stocking and managing inventory for vending machines
