About The Position

As a Food Service Assistant with HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital, you will perform a variety of tasks including delivering and picking up patient trays and menus, recording patient consumption, and maintaining current diet checklists. You will also assist with food preparation, cleaning kitchen areas, and serving food in the cafeteria and patient rooms. This role is essential in ensuring that patient care is prioritized and that food service operations run smoothly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months food service experience preferred, with previous experience in hospital food services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine duties related to preparation and serving of food.
• Prepare food for cooking by washing, peeling, shredding, slicing, and mixing various food items.
• Operate dishwasher or assist with washing/sterilizing dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, pots, pans, etc.
• Clean kitchen work areas and collect and dispose of garbage.
• Assist with food stocking.
• Serve food in cafeteria for visitors and staff and in patient rooms.
• Work in the dish room when needed.
• Work on patient tray assembly line following menu directives for determining food items for each tray.
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
