About The Position

Join ChristianaCare and make a difference every day! We are seeking a Food Service Assistant III to join our dynamic Call Center team within Food & Nutrition Services. In this role, you’ll be the friendly voice behind our patient meal service, helping patients select meals that meet their dietary needs while delivering exceptional customer service. Location: Christiana Hospital Department: Food & Nutrition Services Schedule: Rotating shifts – 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM & 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM (subject to change based on business needs) Status: Part-Time (20/hour weekly) Weekend and holiday rotation required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
  • Familiarity with modified diets, fluid restrictions, and nutritional guidelines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with food service and call center systems preferred
  • ServSafe certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process patient meal selections via phone using CBORD and other systems
  • Guide patients through menu options based on their dietary restrictions
  • Adjust menus according to diet orders and nutritional guidelines
  • Collaborate with dietitians, technicians, and other staff to resolve food service issues
  • Operate dishwashing and pot-washing equipment as needed
  • Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives
  • Maintain safety and sanitation standards in all tasks
