Position Details Status: Casual (8 hours/week) Schedule: Evening shifts, 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM on weekdays and weekends required Location: Wilmington, DE What You’ll Do Prepare and serve meals for patients and cafeteria guests with accuracy and attention to dietary needs Deliver meal trays and nourishments promptly, ensuring excellent customer service Maintain food safety standards, proper storage, and sanitation procedures Operate dishwashing and food service equipment safely and efficiently Communicate effectively with patients, nursing staff, and team members Uphold ChristianaCare’s core values What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous food service experience preferred (6 months or more) Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to follow instructions and work independently Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and infection control Physical & Work Environment Must be able to lift, push, pull, reach, and stand for extended periods Exposure to infectious materials, cleaning chemicals, and temperature variations Must pass a physical exam and be drug-free Why ChristianaCare? This position has a starting rate of $17.32 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.34 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.34 per hour. This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
