Job Summary : We are seeking a reliable Food Service Aide to join our team. This position involves assisting in the daily operations of the kitchen, coordinating food preparation, serving, and cleaning up after meals while adhering to health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for promoting healthy eating habits among students and work collaboratively with school staff and students.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in food service or a similar role is preferred
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive school environment.

Responsibilities

Follow health and safety standards, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
Assist in preparing a variety of nutritious meals and snacks according to established menus and dietary guidelines.
Ensure all meals are presented attractively and in accordance with portion control standards.
Regularly clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
Work closely with food service staff to coordinate meal schedules and effective kitchen operations.
Communicate with teachers and staff regarding meal programs.
Interact positively with students, staff, and faculty to create a welcoming environment.
Address student dietary needs and preferences, providing assistance as needed.
Assist in monitoring inventory levels of food and supplies.
Help maintain stock through ordering, receiving, and storing food items according to established procedures.
Keep accurate records of meal counts, inventory levels, and any food service-related incidents.
Assist in preparing reports as required by the school administration or the health department.
Participate in waste management and recycling initiatives.
Work cooperatively with other food service staff to ensure efficient operation of the kitchen.
Participate in staff training sessions and professional development opportunities as required.
Responsible for all phases of food preparation.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
Supervise students during meal periods.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Other duties as assigned.
Ability to recall and follow all protocols set by the USDA and the Academy
Must be able to maintain a clean and safe work environment
Have successful written and verbal communication
Ability to supervise multiple students at once
Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Stand, walk, reach, lift, push, pull, talk or hear frequently
Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year
Withstand a moderate noise level
