About The Position

The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Supervisor supervises the FSQA staff and takes part in ensuring compliance to day-to-day sanitation and food safety & quality standards, procedures, policies, and master sanitation schedule.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of supervisory experience, preferably in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or Sanitation
  • This position is responsible for supervising the FSQA Technicians

  • Food Safety experience preferred
  • 2 years of Food Safety or Quality Assurance experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform and monitor daily sanitation and food safety checks, ensure good manufacturing practices, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Preventive Controls are strictly followed throughout facility and greenhouses.
  • Supervise and monitor staff adherence to sanitation practices, SSOPs, and conduct trainings.
  • Manage staff scheduling and ensure timely completion of cleaning, sanitation and facility handover to production, sanitation chemical inventory and calibration, stocking of hygiene supplies and personal protective equipment.
  • Conduct and document operational and pre-operational sanitation inspections, food safety checks, inspections on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and other duties along with documenting corrective actions and follow-up, as needed.
  • Identify food safety hazards and work with managers to put control measures in place. Assist Food Safety Manager to determine the root cause and corrective actions in the case of any food safety or sanitation noncompliance or failure.
  • Provide technical help in traceability of product and all inputs from start to finish
  • Perform regular completion of HACCP and sanitation paperwork.
  • Assist managers to conduct quick investigation on any product/process failure on HACCP, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Take part in training and improvement strategies to achieve company, plant, and department goals.
  • Perform microbiological sampling and other duties as assigned.
  • Assume manager responsibilities when needed and follow any other assigned duties.
