About The Position

Overview: The primary focus is to find someone that has an interest in a long-term career in food safety and quality. Finding the right intern that can absorb knowledge that we can provide while also taking that knowledge and putting it into practice will be the key mentoring/coaching opportunity. Educating the intern about Wonderful Citrus Texas to potentially attract them to work for us and as needed groom them for a permanent position on the Texas FSQA team. (Succession Planning) Here's what you'll do: Understanding the vertical integration of the Texas platform by seeing how Food Safety and Quality are linked throughout the process. Develop a draft Fresh Juice HACCP plan for unpasteurized juice to be sold in bulk configurations. Assist in collecting and building a specification document on the fresh side to link each customer to each product they buy. This document can then be shared across all geographies to align the quality of the Texas and Mexican varieties. Present a draft HACCP plan with a validated hazard analysis, critical limits, and monitoring procedures. Build and deploy a specification book/e-document housing quality specification for all customers and varieties. This will be shared to all geographies to better align on Texas varieties. At the end of the internship an executive summary report will be presented to demonstrate knowledge gained in each of the projects assigned and gather key takeaways from the intern.

Requirements

  • Must currently be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in related studies required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a Junior or Senior college academic level with a minimum of 2.5 Overall G.P.A. and a 3.0 Major G.P.A.
  • Must have started core concentration classes in related field
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Access, Word, etc.
  • Must have excellent communication skills-verbal and written
  • High attention to detail
  • Team oriented and have passion for learning
