Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Restaurant Manager The Multi-Venue Food Runner is responsible for delivering food quickly, accurately, and professionally across multiple dining and bar venues, including a martini lounge, rooftop bar, and pool service areas. This role is critical in maintaining service flow, supporting both front-of-house and kitchen teams, and ensuring food is presented and delivered at the highest standard. Food Runners must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable—capable of operating in both elevated dining environments and high-volume, casual settings. Success in this role requires strong communication, urgency, and the ability to navigate different service styles and physical layouts.

Requirements

  • Previous food runner or restaurant experience preferred but not required
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in fast-paced environments
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to carry multiple plates and use trays safely and efficiently
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
  • Valid Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver food from the kitchen to guests quickly and accurately, ensuring proper table and seat placement
  • Confirm orders before leaving the kitchen to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Announce dishes clearly and confidently, using proper menu terminology
  • Ensure all food meets presentation standards before delivery
  • Act as the primary link between kitchen and front-of-house teams to maintain smooth service flow
  • Communicate proactively with chefs, expo, servers, and bartenders regarding timing and order status
  • Assist in pacing courses during elevated service periods
  • Support clearing, resetting, and maintaining table readiness when needed
  • Operate across multiple outlets including lounge, rooftop, and pool environments
  • Adjust delivery style and pace based on venue (refined vs. high-volume casual)
  • Navigate indoor and outdoor spaces efficiently, including high-traffic and weather-exposed areas
  • Support large parties, events, and high-volume service periods
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations, expo areas, and running paths
  • Ensure trays, plateware, and service tools are properly stocked and ready
  • Assist with side work, setup, and breakdown across venues
  • Follow all food safety and handling guidelines
  • Work closely with servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and leadership to ensure seamless service
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Support team needs proactively to ensure overall operational success
  • Maintain a positive, high-energy, and team-focused attitude
