Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of experience in truck driving or related field.
  • Ability to work with confidential information and documentation.
  • Must possess awareness, knowledge, and sensitivity to socioeconomic and culturally diverse backgrounds of the target populations served.
  • Ability to work diplomatically with difficult people and diffuse angry customers quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to work irregularly non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation, possess a valid Wisconsin Drivers’s License and maintain adequate car insurance.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish verbal and written preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate UMOS truck (Class 3) or van to pick up and transport donations on a daily
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on the vehicle, report any issues to a supervisor, and keep the vehicle clean.
  • Maintain accurate trip logs, vehicle service logs, and other required documentation.
  • Arrange for and pick up food, non-food, and other resources as
  • Load and unload food using proper safe lifting methods. This may involve carrying heavy boxes and using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (with proper certification).
  • Weigh all donations, sort them and put them away at their designated
  • Ensure food is transported and handled according to food safety guidelines.
  • Interact professionally with donors, resource agencies, stores, community agencies, CSBG program staff, and other UMOS programs.
  • Prepare food baskets according to family size
  • Complete client intakes distribute food and non-food
  • Assist with the
  • Maintain and organize inventory, keep storage area stocked and
  • Daily maintenance cleaning of all pantry areas including fridge, floors and disposing of
