Position Summary The Food & Beverage Support team member plays a vital role in supporting Gateway Church’s ministry by helping create welcoming, well organized, and distraction free environments during weekend services and ministry events. This position supports both Café and Food Service operations through hands on service, event execution, and volunteer support. The Food & Beverage Support role focuses on faithful execution, strong teamwork, and a servant heart, helping ensure that guests, volunteers, and staff experience excellent hospitality. Key Responsibilities Support food and beverage service for weekend services and Gateway ministry events Assist with event setup, service execution, and teardown for café and food service operations Develop a working knowledge of event schedules, service areas, equipment, and operational expectations Welcome, guide, and support Food & Beverage volunteers by providing clear direction and encouragement Act as the primary point of contact for catering deliveries, verifying order accuracy and managing receipts Assist with the setup, maintenance, and cleanup of serving stations and Green Rooms Manage the proper use, care, and storage of equipment, linens, and supplies Ensure kitchens, equipment, and service areas are cleaned, reset, and prepared for future use Steward food, supplies, and resources responsibly Maintain a clean, professional appearance in accordance with dress code guidelines Demonstrate a positive, servant hearted attitude while working with guests, volunteers, and staff Qualifications Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or event support preferred, but not required Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow established processes Ability to work well in both fast paced and moderate paced environments Relational and team-oriented approach to work Must obtain and maintain a Food Handler’s Certificate provided by the Café & Food Services team Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching Ability to frequently lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
