About The Position

The Grand Traverse Resort and Spa located in Traverse City, MI has openings for 5 full time temporary Food & Beverage Supervisors, $19.52/hr ($29.28/hr O.T.) from 4/1/2026 to 11/30/2026. This position will assist in supplying total guest satisfaction through prompt, courteous and professional service, while maintaining a highly motivated and well trained staff. Maintain high quality standards in regard to food production, presentation, sanitation, and safety; provide supervision of restaurant staff in the absence of Assistant Manager and/or Restaurant Manager; continually strive for 100% guest satisfaction within assigned restaurant outlet by providing and ensuring a consistent quality of service through the supervision, training, and coaching of staff; practice and promote safe alcohol management by adhering to all state laws regarding intoxicated patrons; promote and practice consistent standards of service and cleanliness to all employees; control labor schedules in accordance with budgeted costs; monitor the use and handling of facility resources, including linens, equipment and paper products; monitor guest satisfaction and feedback on a daily basis; keep waste and spoilage to a minimum by following proper rotation, storage, and usage of all food items; order supplies and keep adequate par up levels; perform opening and closing procedures of outlets. Working conditions include a fast-paced work environment and subject to wet floors. Must be capable of lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs and up to 40 lbs occasionally and quickly move arms, hands, and fingers to grasp; manipulate, write, type, and assemble objects. The ability to walk; sit; stand for extended periods of time; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The ability to comprehend and follow directions while effectively handling stress and difficult situations/interactions while also remaining focused and professional. Being detailed and organized is a must.

Requirements

  • Previous waitstaff experience required
  • Minimum of 1-year prior supervisory experience is a must
  • Maintain professional appearance and uniform standards based upon the Resort policies and/or standards
  • Must be capable of lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs and up to 40 lbs occasionally and quickly move arms, hands, and fingers to grasp; manipulate, write, type, and assemble objects
  • The ability to walk; sit; stand for extended periods of time; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • The ability to comprehend and follow directions while effectively handling stress and difficult situations/interactions while also remaining focused and professional
  • Being detailed and organized is a must

Responsibilities

  • H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees) incurred by the worker.
  • If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work.
  • Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer.
  • The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
  • Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
  • The employer does have a limited number of shared housing units available for rent by seasonal employees at a cost to the employee of $10.00-$15.00 per day or $70.00-$105.00 per week.
  • A refundable $400 housing deposit is required minus a $25.00 cleaning fee.
