About The Position

The Food and Beverage Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to support the Front of House Supervisor. The Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for assisting with day-to-day duties, responsibilities, and activities of the Front of House employees which include servers, attendants, and square running concession staff at various locations.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English, possessing good leadership and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage people.
  • Must be able to delegate duties and follow up to ensure completion.
  • Must have at least 6 months of proven supervisory experience; preference is given for experience in Hospitality and/or Food and Beverage.
  • Must have knowledge of food, preparation, and trends.
  • Must have an understanding of federal, state, and local food sanitation regulations.
  • Must have knowledge of wine, liquor, and beer, with the ability to bartend.
  • Must have an understanding of the State of North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Commission’s Responsible Alcohol Seller Program (RASP). Current certification is preferred.
  • Must have accurate cash handling, credit card (PCI/security), and POS knowledge.
  • SERV Safe certified or the ability to achieve in 90 days.
  • Flexible work schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have the ability to uphold consistent standards and accountability.
  • Must possess organizational skills with the ability to multitask while prioritizing workload with a practical, flexible, and innovative approach to work.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment DMV check, background check, and a Fit for Duty physical evaluation.
  • Ability to pull, push, or carry a minimum of 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between the food and beverage employees and management.
  • Participates in training all Front of House staff.
  • Periodically perform audits of employee processes including taking orders, mixing drinks, cash handling, counting down drawers, cleaning, route narration, and customer service.
  • Managing and resolving customer service requests/complaints.
  • Promote a positive work environment and aid in daily productivity.
  • Provide clear and professional communication and direction to employees to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure that the quality of service meets or exceeds expectations set by the department manager.
  • Advise FOH Supervisor with any employee performance issues and offer your input on coaching, disciplinary and/or corrective actions.
  • Consistently provide verbal and written feedback to the FOH Supervisor to identify any problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure all on-board stock, i.e. beer and wine refrigerators, are stored properly while practicing FIFO and proper rotation.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation procedures are being met by planning and executing daily and weekly cleaning projects.
  • Acknowledge and provide an appreciation for employees who consistently go above and beyond the expectation of their daily duties and requirements.
  • Assist with cash handling, daily deposits, ordering, Square POS system, and inventory.
  • Assist in inventory and cost control; help control waste.
  • Assures compliance with all federal, state, and local food sanitation regulations.
  • Ensure opening and closing duties are completed efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Participate and assist employees in daily, weekly, and monthly training and safety briefings to ensure up-to-date knowledge.
  • Responsible for following daily closing procedures to ensure security of buildings.
  • Other duties as requested by management.
