As a member of the Accounting Team, this position will be responsible for monthly inventories, cost accounting and analysis, journal entry preparation, and assists with the cost accounting function by performing the following duties. Requirements

  • Associate degree in finance or accounting preferred, or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of food & beverage cost accounting a plus.
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic team member who works well with others
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects and commit to closing the month prior on time. Generally, this will require working weekdays, the 1st – 10th of the month, but may require weekends as well.
  • Occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.) with a work environment that may be indoors and outdoors at times.

Responsibilities

  • Manages daily and monthly cost reporting process, ensures accuracy.
  • Monitors cost fluctuations in the market and makes price recommendations.
  • Audits the purchasing and point of sale (InfoGenesis) systems to provide accuracy and consistency.
  • Assists with the monthly outlet and storeroom inventory process.
  • Posts month end journal entries and assists in the month end closing process.
  • Prepares and inputs recipes in the purchasing system and associated costs in the point of sale (InfoGenesis) system.
  • Assists Food & Beverage management with menu costing.
  • Completes balance sheet reconciliations associated with the cost accounting function.
  • Prepares ad hoc reports and requests from culinary and outlet managers.
  • Archives or saves subsidiary reports from the purchasing system (Stratton Warren MMS).
  • General understanding of accounting’s general ledger (GL) and point of sale (POS) reporting.
  • Commit to availability during month end closing, generally weekdays the 1st – 10th of the month.
  • Assist accounting management with reports and requests as needed.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Uphold and abide by all Broadmoor policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
