About The Position

The primary focus of this position is to perform an array of functions that include contributing to the smooth day-to-day operations of the food bank warehouse, driving the food bank truck, occasionally supervising food bank distribution. Primary responsibilities include driving food bank truck to pick up donations, checking incoming and outgoing orders for accuracy, storing product safely, inventory control, loading and offloading trucks, general cleaning of the warehouse and equipment, and helping with food bank operations when needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
1 2 years previous warehouse experience preferred
A valid Washington State Drivers License with a clean three year driving record
Good communication and organizational skills
Forklift experience preferred but training will be provided
Ability to lift 30 50 pounds regularly and 50 75 pounds occasionally
Basic computer skills
Able to pass background check
MUST PROVIDE DRIVER ABSTRACT BEFORE INTERVIEW
Must possess the ability to be flexible and adaptable to a changing environment and working with a diverse population

Responsibilities

Drives agency vehicles to/from food bank sites, unloading and setting up of product to be distributed to clients
Drives agency vehicles to grocery stores to pick-up donations
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks
Supervises food distribution at Volunteers of America Food Bank locations.
Assist in loading and offloading trucks
Participate in inventory counts
Accept food and cash donations from donors
Assists with prepping and packing for food bank distribution.
Prepare food orders for food bank partners
Participates in housekeeping activities.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
