About The Position

Greater Bergen Community Action’s (GBCA) Head Start Preschool program is a rewarding environment for individuals passionate about helping others who seek to advance their careers while making a positive impact. With its origins in the War on Poverty, Head Start is one of the longest-running federally funded programs. The Head Start model has been praised and emulated throughout the country. At GBCA, our Head Start Preschool program collaborates with local school districts. We are seeking to hire reliable and safety-focused Driver’s to transport meals and food supplies to our local school sites.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent. If obtained outside of the United States the credential must be evaluated by an approved vendor.
Valid NJ driver’s license with a good and insurable driving history.
English fluency – Read, write and speak.
ServSafe food handler certification or the ability to pass within three (3) months of hire.
Must be able to physically meet the demands of the position, including lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Transports and delivers food and products to/from designated locations.
Operates all necessary equipment needed for the successful operation of the Food and Nutrition department.
Maintains the cleanliness of vehicles assigned to the Food and Nutrition department and assists with food preparation, sanitation duties in the kitchen as needed.
Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
