Position Overview The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational excellence, and guest satisfaction of our luxury restaurant and banquet operations at the Beacon Grand. This role oversees daily service, special events, and banquet functions while upholding the highest standards of hospitality, product quality, and team performance in a fast-paced, luxury environment.

  • Some college education preferred.
  • 3–5 years of Food & Beverage management experience required.
  • Lifestyle / luxury hotel or luxury restaurant experience required; opening experience a plus.
  • California / San Francisco market experience preferred.
  • Prior experience managing banquets and events strongly preferred.
  • Regularly required to bend, push, pull, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and operate a telephone and POS equipment.
  • Long hours sometimes required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and elevate standards of food, beverage, and guest service quality in both restaurant and banquet operations.
  • Ensure a consistent luxury guest experience through effective floor presence, service recovery, and attention to detail.
  • Anticipate future guest trends and align Food & Beverage offerings accordingly.
  • Oversee all aspects of banquet operations, including setup, service, and breakdown for meetings, events, and social functions.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Catering, and Culinary teams to execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) in line with brand standards and client expectations.
  • Manage banquet staffing levels, labor planning, and workflow to ensure seamless execution of events.
  • Maintain a strong presence during key events, ensuring guest satisfaction and addressing issues in real time.
  • Manage daily operations of restaurant and bar outlets, ensuring correct staffing, mise en place, and adherence to service standards.
  • Maintain inventory control procedures for all outlets, including liquor, wine, and operating supplies.
  • Enhance services and standards across the Food & Beverage Division, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Guide and inspire exceptional team performance; mentor managers, supervisors, and team members in the Food & Beverage Division.
  • Build team capability, knowledge, and resources to meet short- and long-term business objectives.
  • Mentor, train, and coach team members; oversee new hires and track ongoing training and development.
  • Manage banquets and outlets operational coverage, workload, and resource distribution within and across teams.
  • Maintain and manage in compliance with established company policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Maintain procedures for the security of monies, credit control, and handling of financial transactions.
  • Maintain inventory control processes and cost-management practices to support financial goals.
  • Hold accountability for P&L performance in the Food & Beverage Division, including revenue growth, cost control, and profitability.
  • Assist in preparing and executing local and national sales and marketing programs for Food & Beverage, including restaurant promotions, holiday events, and banquet initiatives.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to support banquet and group business, including site visits and occasional client interactions.
  • Increase the level of guest satisfaction through employee development, job-specific training, and quality of product.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
