A Day In the Life As a Food & Beverage Manager, you will lead our pivotal onboard service operations and play a key role in delivering unforgettable guest experiences. You’ll oversee the daily operations of all food and beverage outlets associated with the Wine Train, ensuring exceptional service, efficient execution, and adherence to brand standards. This role also involves hands-on leadership in employee training, scheduling, and development—fostering a motivated and engaged team that embodies the spirit of Napa Valley hospitality.

Requirements

  • 3-5 of progressive experience in F&B management in a luxury/hospitality environment (restaurant, hotel, resort, or high-end service concept).
  • Proven ability to lead a team, train staff, enforce standards, recognize talent, manage performance.
  • Strong guest service orientation with emphasis on high-quality hospitality and guest experience.
  • Financial acumen: ability to understand budgets, cost controls, inventory, labor metrics.
  • Knowledge of food & beverage operations: dining service, bar service, beverage programs (wine, spirits, cocktails), menu planning.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and to adapt to the unique schedule of the Wine Train experience.
  • High professional standards, strong attention to detail, ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications such as ServSafe, TIPS/Alco for beverage service.
  • Familiarity with POS systems, reservations/event systems, and inventory software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and knowledge in Napa Valley or wine country hospitality, strong wine knowledge.
  • Experience in event or charter operations and/or mobile/dynamic service venues (such as onboard train, destination dining).
  • Formal hospitality, food & beverage or business degree or certification.
