About The Position

The Analyst will coordinate all government information access requests, ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. This position requires competent judgment in handling classified and sensitive records, strong knowledge and understanding of FOIA and Privacy Act exemptions and demonstrated ability to handle high volume and complex requests. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Process, track and respond to government information requests from “cradle to grave”, including complex litigation, amendments and appeals, ensuring thorough review and compliance with legal and policy requirements. Assess requests, collaborate and negotiate with subject matter experts to prepare relevant and error free document productions. Conduct research on topical matters to identify sensitive matters in connection with document production sets. Draft and manage correspondence in response to government information requests. Draft and update standard operation procedures and training guides. Represent bureau interests in Department and Interagency working groups and support collaborative projects. Proofread peer reviewed deliverable to ensure accuracy and compliance with expectations. Ensure information is properly cleared for public release and is compliant with applicable laws. Prepare reports, summaries, and perform metrics for leadership. Perform other related duties as assigned. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSURE: Must be a US citizen, and possess at a minimum, a Secret security clearance, with eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance . Possess Bachelor’s degree preferred and 10 years of related experience. One year of relevant experience and/or relevant coursework in addition to the experience requirements may be substituted for the undergraduate degree. Professional certifications such as CIPP-US are appropriate for some positions and can also substitute for a year of experience when applicable. Experience responding to FOIA/PA/MDR requests, including handling classified and sensitive information. Proficient in compliance with public access laws such as FOIA, PA, MDR, Touhy and/or general litigation discovery. Knowledge of FOIA exemptions and other statutory exemption frameworks. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and negotiate with stakeholders for equity reviews and policy alignment. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.
