Requirements

Responsibilities

  • The employee is primarily responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control for compliance monitoring activities relative to the department’s administration of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) which includes the School Breakfast Program (SBP), Afterschool Snack Program (ASSP), Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP),Special Milk Program (SMP), Seamless Summer Option (SSO), and the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) for the following Code of Federal Regulations: (CFR) (7 CFR 210, 7 CFR 215, 7 CFR 220, 7 CFR 225, 7 CFR 245, 2 CFR 200, and 7 CFR 250).
  • Develops and aids in the implementation of internal processes and procedures.
  • Reviews and submits for approval standard operating procedures (SOPs) and plans, ensuring alignment with regulations, guidelines, and policies.
  • Maintains and updates School Meals Administrative Reviews (SMAR) forms as needed in accordance with regulations and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services policies.
  • Ensures that templates and forms are current, and that staff are using the most current version in the administration of job duties.
  • Ensures SMAR documents are filed and organized according to internal policy.
  • Conducts second party review of SMAR reports and oversees the timely submission of reports to sponsors following SMAR Exit Conferences.
  • Reviews the sponsor’s folder for supporting documentation and completion of required fields.
  • Reviews the Administrative Review FANS for completion of all areas, if items are found to be missing, works with compliance team to correct them.
  • Coordinates with internal and external team members to ensure the SMAR process is followed and that SMARs are timely closed.
  • Reviews and coordinates with the procurement team, resource management, nutrition standards and any other team members, to ensure the review tools are accurate and consistent with the SMAR process.
  • Works closely with the Compliance Director to ensure all files are sufficiently maintained for purposes of appeals and USDA Management Evaluations.

  • Works closely with the Compliance Director to create and facilitate routine training for staff.
  • Develops resources to assist staff with job duties.
  • Implements processes for improved workflows.
  • Stays abreast of federal and state regulations related to Child Nutrition Programs.
  • Assists with the emergency management functions of the division during periods of disaster.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
