About The Position

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise. This internship is a part of a 10-week full-time summer internship program opportunity. This role will be based at Archer’s headquarters in San Jose, California and relocation or housing will not be provided. Archer is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join Archer. This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience on aircraft system development, testing, and certification within the Fly-by-Wire team. The intern will be working in both office and laboratory environments, supporting development and testing activities of the Flight Control Computer Subsystem (FCCS) and Side Stick Subsystem (SSS).

Requirements

  • Going into the 2nd or 3rd year in college career
  • Familiarization with signal processing, data analysis, electronics, microprocessor or microcontroller, and software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Able to commit to a 10 week internship.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Validation and Verification (V&V) activities (following SAE ARP-4754A based processes) of the Flight Control Computer Subsystem (FCCS) and Side Stick Subsystem (SSS)
  • Prepare, review, or revise technical documentation, including equipment and system level specifications, analysis, test plan, procedures, and reports.
  • Engage actively in problem-solving efforts, offering innovative solutions and troubleshooting issues as they come up.
  • Research key engineering topics, analyze data, and present insights to inform project decisions.
