Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. What You’ll Do Conduct discipline and systems engineering activities for the development and certification of advanced fly-by-wire (FBW) flight control systems. Manage complex system requirements across multiple architectural levels (system, subsystem, and equipment) throughout the complete product lifecycle, from concept through end-of-life. Provide technical leadership and oversight to international suppliers in developing lower level requirement sets. Lead comprehensive laboratory testing activities, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and integrated system testing, and supporting critical flight test operations that may be witnessed by various international certification authorities. Conduct sophisticated system analysis using simulation, laboratory, and flight test data to evaluate performance against requirements. Lead problem investigation and root cause analysis for issues across international markets. • Develop comprehensive certification documentation, including test procedures, compliance matrices, and safety assessments for multiple regulatory frameworks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience with Fly-by-Wire system development and certification was gained.
  • The experience must include 6 years of experience on aircraft development and certification in multiple countries with different certification authorities in 3 different jurisdictions and working with international suppliers, customers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Must have knowledge of SAE ARP-4754A, DO-178C, DO-254 aerospace standards.
  • Skilled with aircraft certification projects with international authorities including FAA or EASA or TCCA or ANAC or CASA or DGCA or CAAC.
  • 20% international travel.
