About The Position

General Summary of the Job: The X-ray Technologist (Fluoroscopy/X-ray) is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures with fluoroscopy and X-ray equipment, specifically within the orthopedic department. The technologist will be expected to provide high-quality images that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions. This position requires proficiency in fluoroscopic and standard X-ray imaging techniques, strong patient care skills, and the ability to maintain a safe and efficient imaging environment. Essential Job Functions: · Perform fluoroscopic and conventional X-ray imaging procedures on patients as ordered by orthopedic physicians. · Operate radiographic equipment, ensuring proper positioning of the patient to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. · Utilize fluoroscopy for real-time imaging during orthopedic procedures such as joint injections, biopsies, and surgical interventions. Responsible for operating the medical equipment used to capture x-ray images. Positioning the patient and the equipment in a way that protects patient and employee safety. Detailed knowledge of x-ray procedures and the ability to explain the procedures to patients. Must follow regulations for protecting patients, coworkers and themselves from unnecessary exposure to radiation from the equipment and environment. Participate in quality assurance initiatives and provide feedback for continuous improvement in radiologic practices. Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography and Fluorocopy (as required by state law).
  • State licensure as required for radiologic technolgists.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations set by state, federal and local law.
  • Understanding of EPM/EHR system
  • Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques and radiation safety.
  • Proficient in operating fluoroscopic and X-ray imaging equipment.
  • Strong initiative and the ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and decision-making in complex situations.
  • Proficient in analyzing, organizing, and prioritizing tasks to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion.
  • Exceptional ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to ensuring patient care and safety at all times.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move patients as needed throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret medical documents.
  • Ability to set priorities among multiple requests.
  • Ability to interact easily and effectively with others.
  • Ability to share expertise and knowledge with staff to maintain and improve workflow.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients and/or co-workers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an Orthopedic Practice preferred.
  • Experience with orthopedic imaging procedures, including joint injections, arthrograms, and intraoperative imaging, is highly preferred.
