General Summary of the Job: The X-ray Technologist (Fluoroscopy/X-ray) is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures with fluoroscopy and X-ray equipment, specifically within the orthopedic department. The technologist will be expected to provide high-quality images that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions. This position requires proficiency in fluoroscopic and standard X-ray imaging techniques, strong patient care skills, and the ability to maintain a safe and efficient imaging environment. Essential Job Functions: · Perform fluoroscopic and conventional X-ray imaging procedures on patients as ordered by orthopedic physicians. · Operate radiographic equipment, ensuring proper positioning of the patient to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. · Utilize fluoroscopy for real-time imaging during orthopedic procedures such as joint injections, biopsies, and surgical interventions. Responsible for operating the medical equipment used to capture x-ray images. Positioning the patient and the equipment in a way that protects patient and employee safety. Detailed knowledge of x-ray procedures and the ability to explain the procedures to patients. Must follow regulations for protecting patients, coworkers and themselves from unnecessary exposure to radiation from the equipment and environment. Participate in quality assurance initiatives and provide feedback for continuous improvement in radiologic practices.
