About The Position

The Florist at Hotel Arts Barcelona is responsible for the comprehensive management of floral arrangements within the hotel. This includes the initial stages of trimming, watering, and preparing flowers for display, as well as receiving shipments from suppliers. During receipt, the Florist must verify correct quantities and ensure the flowers are in acceptable condition, refusing any that do not meet standards, and accurately logging all received items. A primary duty involves designing and creating custom floral arrangements tailored for various hotel areas, including public spaces, restaurant outlets, banquet events, and individual guest rooms. The role also encompasses the delivery of these flowers and floral displays to customers, various property sites, or off-site locations. Post-delivery, the Florist is expected to follow up with the customer or relevant department to confirm the floral order was delivered as requested and to coordinate the on-site setup of displays. Maintaining a neat and clean storeroom at all times and following a checklist for cleaning the shop before closing are also essential. Beyond floral duties, the Florist is expected to report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management, complete all required safety training and certifications, and adhere to all company policies and procedures. This includes maintaining a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance, safeguarding proprietary information, and protecting company assets. The role also involves significant guest interaction, requiring the Florist to welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate and address their service needs, and express genuine appreciation. Professional communication, both in person and over the telephone, is required, along with developing and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues. Finally, the Florist must comply with all quality assurance expectations and standards and be prepared to perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Trim, water, and prepare flowers for display.
  • Receive flowers from suppliers, including verifying correct quantities, refusing flowers that are not in acceptable condition, and logging in flowers received.
  • Design and create custom floral arrangements for public areas, restaurant outlets, banquets and guest rooms.
  • Deliver flowers and floral displays/arrangements to customers, property sites or off-site locations.
