About The Position

As a Floral Designer, you will create beautiful, custom floral arrangements for customers, ensuring each design meets their needs for special occasions or everyday enjoyment. You will work with a variety of flowers and plants to craft stunning arrangements that enhance the store’s floral department. This role is key to delivering exceptional customer service, assisting with floral selection, and providing expert guidance on care and presentation. Your creativity and passion for flowers will help create an inviting and vibrant shopping experience, making our floral department a destination for customers.

Requirements

Previous experience in floral design or a related field preferred.
Strong knowledge of flowers, plants, and floral arrangement techniques.
Creativity and artistic ability to design custom floral arrangements.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to assist customers with floral selection and design ideas.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail in design, product presentation, and customer service.
Basic math skills for pricing, inventory tracking, and handling transactions.
Knowledge of floral care and proper handling techniques to maintain freshness.
Ability to work with floral tools and materials, including shears, knives, and floral foam.
Ability to lift, carry, and arrange flowers and plants up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Bending, stooping, and reaching to stock shelves and create arrangements.
Must have visual and hearing acuity
Consistently perform repetitive tasks
Manual dexterity required for cutting and arranging flowers
Ability to use hands and fingers to reach, lift and carry 50 pounds on a regular basis
Ability to safely use floral tools, including knives, shears, and floral foam.
Ability to speak to, hear, and understand others via phone and in person in English

Responsibilities

Create custom floral arrangements for customers based on their needs, preferences, and special occasions.
Design and assemble bouquets, centerpieces, wreaths, and other floral arrangements using fresh flowers, plants, and other materials.
Provide expert advice and recommendations to customers on floral selections and arrangement styles.
Maintain an appealing and organized floral display that highlights the variety and quality of products.
Prepare flowers and plants by cutting, trimming, and conditioning them to ensure freshness and longevity.
Ensure all floral products are handled, stored, and displayed according to company guidelines for quality and safety.
Assist customers with selecting flowers, plants, and other floral products for their occasions.
Provide care instructions to customers to ensure the longevity of their floral arrangements.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the work area, including the storage and refrigeration areas.
Monitor inventory levels of flowers, supplies, and equipment, and assist with ordering as needed.
Stay up-to-date on floral design trends, seasonal offerings, and new floral techniques.
Assist with department promotions and special event preparations, including creating arrangements for store displays or seasonal holidays.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
