About The Position

The Assistant Floral Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the Floral, Candy & Gift department at Plum Market. This role works closely with the Floral Manager to ensure proper product rotation, merchandising execution, seasonal display set-ups, and high-quality Customer Service. The Assistant Manager also helps train new Team Members, maintain an organized backroom, and process all department deliveries. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone passionate about flowers and visual merchandising, eager to support department growth and team success.

Requirements

  • A passion for flowers and a strong interest in floral merchandising and design.
  • Ability to multitask and delegate responsibilities to meet daily and seasonal goals.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Familiarity with basic computer programs such as Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break – we work on the floor, and alongside our team.
  • Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift loads up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and push/pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a hands-on approach to leadership and Guest interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service to Customers and ensure follow-through on custom floral orders.
  • Support the Floral Manager in checking in and processing floral deliveries.
  • Help execute every day and seasonal department merchandising plans.
  • Assist with design for retail floor displays and Customer orders as needed.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient backroom storage area.
  • Ensure product rotation and quality control to maximize freshness and reduce waste.
  • Help train new Team Members and share product knowledge to strengthen team performance.
  • Take ownership of signage requests and price changes within the department.
  • Contribute ideas for new displays, designs, and product selection to enhance the department offering.
  • Uphold all Plum Market policies, safety procedures, and department standards.
