About The Position

The Floor Supervisor is responsible for managing the servers and ensuring employees are properly trained. The Floor Supervisor takes care of the restaurant patrons and assures an enjoyable meal and pleasant experience while dining.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related restaurant experience required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public.
  • Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings.
  • Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
  • Management skills and strong business acumen, including problem solving, vision, ability to manage multiple programs and meet deadlines, collaboration, leadership, decision making and ability to analyze diverse facts and develop clear and concise reports and recommendations.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Proficiency in software programs including all Microsoft Office programs.
  • Mature professional attitude and considerable discretion, including ability to manage confidential information.
  • Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree from an accredited college in business administration, hospitality management, or equivalent program preferred.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the supervision of servers/hostesses/bussers: Assures the servers are greeting patrons properly, informing patrons of food/drink specials, ringing food and drinks in properly, are properly attired, and completing all on-going and end of the shift side work; cashes servers out; assures hostesses have floor plans/section chart prepared, daily staff listed, are properly rotating the server stations, are dressed properly and have a pleasant attitude and demeanor towards guests and co-workers; assures the bussers are keeping the tables cleared and wiped, floors free of any debris/garbage, stocking glasses and plates, and assisting dishwasher and servers as much as possible.
  • Maintains customer relations: Reaches out to restaurant patrons currently dining to ensure they are having a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience and are pleased with their food and service; speaks with guests in person and on the phone to answer any questions; assists with promoting parties, and builds customer base.
  • Performs general front of the house duties- ie. expo, helping servers out, etc.: Spends the majority of time in the dining room, including assisting as needed; also expos and runs food, helps bus tables, runs drinks from the bar, and helps seat the guests.
  • Performs general office duties: Runs reports (sales, credit card, etc.); counts server cash outs and prepares deposits; makes deposit at the bank; takes daily counts of safe, petty cash receipts, and balance; stamps, codes and copies invoices; updates menu items and employees on the Micros System.
  • Assists with party/event planning where applicable/when needed.
  • Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
  • Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
  • Updates and enhances own knowledge by involvement in continuing education for professional growth (i.e., attends relevant conferences, seminars, in-service trainings, and certification programs)
  • Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.
