This position is located on an offshore oil platform in Federal waters off the coast of southern California. Working 14 days on and 14 days off. Duties include but are not limited to: Safely and efficiently performing all tasks on the rig floor and B.O.P. area under the direction and supervision of the Driller. Operating the tongs, slips, and spinners to connect and dis-connect drill pipe, tubulars, casing, and drill bits or tools. Performing all maintenance of the equipment and physical space of the drill floor. Performing rig up and down procedures, nipple up and down and care of the B.O.P. system; monitoring and operation of the shakers; assisting the Derrickman within the mud pit, mud pump and chemical sack rooms. Performing housekeeping cleaning painting and maintenance of equipment on the drill floor including BOP deck, Main Deck, shale shakers, portable panels, dry storage, mud pits, and mud pump room. Providing relief for the Derrickman; once trained. The Floor Hand's primary work station is on the Rig floor; they work directly with the Driller ensuring compliance with all Company and safety regulations.
