Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Three (3) months prior experience with floor refinishing and carpet cleaning equipment and procedures.
  • Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the hospital.
  • Possesses the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of chemical mixing and stripping.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and follows correct chain of command in handling challenges and issues, including crisis situations
  • Ability to organize and prioritize time and tasks to achieve a well-coordinated work effort and to effectively meet work schedules including an ability to integrate multiple factors which may have an impact on patient care
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.
  • Cognizant of environmental factors, infection control issues and maintains a safe environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs cleaning functions in assigned area following established schedule and using prescribed methods.
  • Scrubs and strips all soil or finish down to the base tile.
  • Accounts for the cleanliness and neat appearance of assigned project areas and that projects or schedule is completed in proper time.
  • Follows instruction of supervisors to insure all areas pass inspection.
  • Analyzes floor conditions and administers proper cleaning techniques to insure proper appearance and protect surface being serviced.
  • Observes/reports any deficiencies of equipment or furniture.
  • Performs cleaning duties in locked medication rooms. The Floor Finisher is aware that they are not responsible for medications and they should report any unsecured medications to a licensed professional.
