About The Position

We are looking for a dedicated Floating Dietitian or Diet Technician to provide essential clinical nutrition services across 2-3 long-term care or acute care facilities in the Gettysburg and Chambersburg, PA area. Requirements

  • For Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN): Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Current state licensure/certification (if applicable).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical nutrition setting, preferably in long-term care or acute care.
  • For Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR): Associate's degree or completion of a Dietetic Technician Program.
  • Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) credential by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical nutrition support role, preferably in long-term care or acute care.
  • All Candidates Must Possess: Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Highly organized with strong time management abilities to manage a flexible schedule across multiple locations.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between facilities in Gettysburg and Chambersburg, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical nutrition therapy and nutrition assessments for residents/patients in various clinical settings.
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on patient needs, medical conditions, and dietary preferences.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition interventions, making adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals.
  • Educate residents/patients, their families, and staff on nutrition-related topics.
  • Document nutrition care services accurately and in a timely manner within electronic health records.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies related to nutrition services.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Travel between designated facilities in Gettysburg and Chambersburg as needed.
