About The Position

The Float Medical Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring continuity of care across all Wellspire Medical Group locations. This position is specifically designed for a highly adaptable professional who is willing and able to travel between clinics as needed to support staffing shortages and operational demands. The Float Medical Assistant provides both clinical and administrative support across multiple medical specialties and locations, stepping in wherever coverage is required. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to quickly integrate into different teams and workflows. By traveling between sites, the Float Medical Assistant helps maintain smooth operations, balanced workloads, and consistently high standards of patient care throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting
  • Ability and willingness to travel between multiple clinic locations on short notice

  • Experience working across multiple medical specialties or clinic locations
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Additional certifications (e.g., phlebotomy, EKG technician)
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations

Responsibilities

  • Travel between Wellspire Medical Group locations to provide coverage during staffing shortages or high-volume periods
  • Prepare examination rooms and patients for procedures across various specialties
  • Accurately obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and patient information
  • Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy, injections, and basic lab testing under provider supervision
  • Support patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating records, and coordinating communication across departments
  • Adapt quickly to different clinic workflows, providers, and protocols
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment
  • Educate patients on procedures, medications, and follow-up care as directed
