About The Position

The Flight Training Scheduler I, solves and monitors the day-to-day pilot training operation by scheduling various aspects of pilot training, while complying with all policies, rules, and regulations for Alaska Air. As an individual contributor, this role focuses on and supports flight training scheduling for Alaska Airlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business administration or relevant area, or 2 years of experience in related area in lieu of this degree.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to bring forward innovative ideas to promote the success of the department, the division, and the company.
  • Effective communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening).
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work a rotational schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of the airline industry.
  • 2 years of experience in a role doing scheduling or coordinating experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides input into the day-to-day pilot training operation to ensure all training is efficiently and accurately scheduled and maintained while adhering to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, department policies, and procedures.
  • Facilitates and solves for training department hotel needs.
  • Facilitates, generates and schedules all pilot training requirements.
  • Formulates and schedules all Qualification Operational Experience trips, while partnering with other stakeholders on optimization and efficiency.
  • Focuses on and follows all department policies and procedures to perform duties.
  • Analyzes and resolves all scheduling of pilot training questions including driving resolution with other teams as appropriate.
  • Communicates frequently and clearly and confidently with Pilot union and instructors on scheduling focused contractual requirements.
  • Provides input in cross team meetings & serves as a subject matter expert for specific components of pilot training operation processes and the CBA.
  • Provides input in the maintenance of the scheduling systems operating procedures (SOP).
  • Performs other duties assigned.
