About The Position

MTSI is seeking a Flight Test Engineer at Nellis AFB, Nevada with a TS/SCI Security Clearance. Key Responsibilities: Provide flight test engineering expertise in support of advanced air dominance systems development. Serve as a Test Conductor for ground and flight test missions. Lead and contribute to test event planning, execution, data collection, management, and distribution. Develop and review test objectives, plans, flight test cards, and necessary documentation. Coordinate test venues, test assets, and participants across DoD organizations. Collaborate with data analysts to align test analysis activities. Assess the readiness of test ranges, weapon systems, and technology projects for testing, and provide recommendations to senior government representatives. Schedule mission execution, manage logistics, and monitor progress and associated risks. Work closely with government entities, test range organizations, and development contractors to ensure program success. Support coordination efforts across test operations and program teams to meet milestones and address resource or schedule challenges. Facilitate safety and aircraft modification coordination processes. Assist in the planning and implementation of operations and maintenance procedures in collaboration with contract maintenance teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science.
  • 8–14+ years of experience in aerospace, test and evaluation, or related technical roles.
  • Expertise in data analysis methods to optimize flight test planning and execution.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a FAA Class 3 flight physical.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expertise in avionics, mission systems, munitions systems, or communication/radar systems.
  • Familiarity with Air Force test and evaluation policies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in team environments as well as work independently.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility is required to support mission-critical operations.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position, due to contract requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior aircrew experience as a system operator, WSO, CSO, EWO, or Pilot, particularly on specialized platforms.
  • Experience serving as a Flight Test Conductor and performing on-aircraft operations.
  • Strong familiarity with operations involving major DoD test wings and ranges.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility is required to support mission-critical operations.
  • Master’s degree in engineering.
  • 10+ years of aerospace, test and evaluation, or related technical work.
  • Experience preparing flight test-related documents, such as Test Plans, Methods of Test, and Flight Test Cards.
  • Proficiency in flight operations, test operations, air dominance, strike, or ISR missions.
  • Hands-on experience with instrumentation, data management, and test data analysis.
