About The Position

Flight Test Control Engineer for the Test and Evaluation (T&E) Mod Team, primarily supporting F-35 test aircraft. The successful applicant will provide FTCE support for test aircraft modification operations at our Test Sites. Tasks will involve pre-mod coordination including working with the FW Flight Test Ops Center and Test Sites on mod planning, evaluating Basis of Estimates (BOE) for mod work, defining Production Equipment (PE) tooling requirements, identifying mod team skillset needs; Integrated schedule development; Providing a detailed execution plan; Mod Team onsite management; Serving as the ALIS POC during mod execution; Verifying engineering, technical and support data; Verifying work instructions and coordinating revisions; Coordinating applicable GFR/DCMA 8210 and CGOP requirements. Related skills include: Schematic reading/interpretation/troubleshooting Knowledge of installed aircraft systems/subsystems and Support Equipment Knowledge of avionics/mission systems and vehicle/utility systems Fault isolation and/or problem analysis at the subsystem level Good knowledge of the system/software engineering environment Authoring test and technical documents (EIR/TCTD/AOL/GML, etc.), plus directing and overseeing their execution. The applicant must be fluent in the Flight Test Request (FTR) and T2 modification processes. This position will act as the principal focal point between the Mod Team Test Site maintenance and engineering personnel. The ability to interface with all levels of project management is desired. Above average oral and written communication skills are required. Exceptional planning and coordinating skills are also required. This position requires frequent travel. The applicant must be willing to travel several times per year to our Test Sites to support the various onsite mod activities.

Requirements

  • Flight test experience with military aircraft
  • Experience working with Aircraft Systems and/or Maintenance/Modification Procedures
  • Experience working with Aircraft Configuration Control Maintenance Systems
  • Schematic reading/interpretation/troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of installed aircraft systems/subsystems and Support Equipment
  • Knowledge of avionics/mission systems and vehicle/utility systems
  • Fault isolation and/or problem analysis at the subsystem level
  • Good knowledge of the system/software engineering environment
  • Authoring test and technical documents (EIR/TCTD/AOL/GML, etc.), plus directing and overseeing their execution
  • Fluent in the Flight Test Request (FTR) and T2 modification processes
  • The ability to interface with all levels of project management is desired

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technically related discipline.
  • Secret security clearance.
  • Working knowledge of technical orders, military flight operations, and maintenance concepts.
  • Specific knowledge of F-35 avionics/mission systems and vehicle/utility systems.
  • Specific knowledge of the F-35 Automatic Logistics Information System (ALIS)
  • Knowledge of installed aircraft systems/subsystems and support equipment.
  • Fault isolation and/or problem analysis at the subsystem level.
  • Good knowledge of the system/software engineering environment.
  • Experience performing aircraft modifications / familiarity with military T2 modification process.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Shop Floor Management (SFM)
