Tyonek Services Group will provide field maintenance (to include phase maintenance and special inspections), limited sustainment level repair, aviation maintenance management, embedded support to the TDD-A/SID's Flight Test Division, prototype development of systems and products, and aircraft modifications and upgrades. DUTIES Responsible for managing the Flight Operations Office and coordinating flight missions, as well as organizing, directing, and controlling all phases of flight operations with Government oversight. Maintain the aviation operations files and records by preparing reports, and designation orders. Initiate flight schedules, post names of flight crews to aircraft tail numbers, and interface with key personnel to ensure successful mission completion. Maintain flight planning area that displays flight planning information to include airfield diagrams, status of navigational aids, aeronautical map of local flying area, special use airspace, restricted areas, and crash grid chart. The Flight Operations Specialist will prepare and maintain cross country kits that contain flying regulations, facilities-airport directory, navigational charts, and DOD flight information publications (FLIPS). Must maintain flight crew information reading file, aircraft weight and balance data, radio frequencies-call signs, provide flight following, and implement crash alarm system when required. Assist flight-line personnel in assigning crew - passengers to aircraft, aviators in preparing and processing their flight plans either manually or digitally. Coordinate with the Chief Standardization Pilot and with the Government Flight Representative (GFR) for pertinent approvals, waivers, and certifications. Review and recommend changes for updating and implemented all flight operation policies and procedures. Will prepare and maintain a functional file system of correspondence, directives, forms, records, qualifications, waivers, certifications, and other data pertaining to government flight operations. Secure, store and issue NVGs and other sensitive equipment for flight missions. Responsible for safeguarding all government furnished flight operations equipment. Flight Maintain individual flight records using the Centralized Automated Flight Records System (CAFRS) system. Perform individual crewmember close outs by birth-month for their annual proficiency and readiness test (APART) completions, post flight time to flight records, track individual currency requirements, review grade slips and records for completeness as per flight operations procedures. Work daily with multiple financial databases to monitor and ensure organization program fund are executed in accordance with organization and Office of Secretary of Defense execution goals, to include the Automated, Time and Attendance Production System (ATAAPS).
