About The Position

INTRODUCTION The Dispatcher is responsible for supporting flight operations through flight following and associated duties. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Exercise Operational Control for Supplemental Operations per 14 CFR 121.537 on behalf of the DO. Prepare flight releases prior to each flight departure operating under FAR 121 supplemental flight rules; compute fuel loads as required complying with safety of flight and legal requirements. Analyze weather data; evaluate trends along routes and notify flights of adverse weather conditions; maintain surveillance on all flights in progress Collect and monitor flight crew rest and duty times, coordinate scheduling and record changes on the crew schedule. Manage IROP delays or cancellations of flights with Dispatch Manager. Complete crew check in and close out processes. Ensure crew coverage for all flights during shift and next shift; remain on duty until the replacement dispatcher has been fully briefed on all operational flights. Assist in collection and dissemination of flight/crewmember/aircraft information as directed by the Dispatch Manager; maintain a complete shift report, enter all required pilot and flight information into computer and maintain electronic files. Serve as positive role model for ethical behavior and promote an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles that are consistent with these principles; promote and support the mission of Empire Airlines. Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent with valid FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate.
  • Must maintain familiarity with the use of and information contained in FAR 91, 121, 135 and MEL of each type of aircraft operated, company manual and dispatch policy manual.
  • Must have excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with insurable record through Empire’s policy.
  • Must adhere to the company’s FAA/DOT required Drug and Alcohol Program.
