About The Position
Smyth is hiring a skilled Flexographic Press Operator to join their growing team at their facility in the Twin Cities. This role offers a compressed 3-day work week schedule and involves producing high-quality labels and packaging. The ideal candidate will have printing experience and strong mechanical aptitude, and will be responsible for setting up and operating a Nilpeter flexographic press, monitoring material waste, ensuring efficient press operation, collaborating with team members, and supporting Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- 2+ years of printing or press operation experience
Nice To Haves
- Flexographic printing experience
- Experience with: Cold foil
- Experience with: Hot stamp dies
- Experience with: Rotary screens
- Experience with: Tactile varnishes
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or BRC quality systems
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate a Nilpeter flexographic press
- Produce high-quality labels while meeting production and quality standards
- Monitor and reduce material waste
- Ensure press is fully stocked and running efficiently
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives
