About The Position

The Flex Pool Operator is a cross-trained production team member responsible for maintaining labor continuity and operational performance across multiple production lines. This role provides coverage for hourly bakers during PTO, absenteeism, and staffing gaps, and supports high-labor or complex production runs requiring additional manpower. This position requires broad operational knowledge across multiple processes and strong adaptability in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Strong understanding of GMP’s, HACCP, SQF food safety standards.
Ability to operate and troubleshoot information on assorted HMI’s throughout the manufacturing process.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high speed manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting or 1+ years in a food manufacturing setting preferred.
Working knowledge with automated processing and packaging equipment required.

Responsibilities

Promote and support a strong safety culture by following all safety requirements for the job assigned. Ensure you are wearing appropriate PPE for the area.
Always practice compliance with GMP’s in all areas of the bakery.
Verify quality standards including weight, appearance, texture, packaging integrity, and accurate labeling as assigned.
Ensure HACCP compliance throughout shift as assigned.
Always follow proper allergen control and sanitation practices.
Provide direct production coverage for hourly bakers during PTO, call-offs, and temporary staffing shortages.
Operate equipment across multiple process areas (e.g., mixing, make-up, proofing, baking, freezing, packaging) as required.
Support production lines that require additional labor beyond standard staffing models.
Effectively enter and provide explanation behind downtime codes for data accuracy to ensure proper root cause solutions and resource allocation.
Quickly transition between production lines with minimal supervision.
Other tasks assigned from supervisor as needed.
