About The Position

The Manager, Pre-Openings Revenue Management (RM) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the revenue management functions (pricing, inventory & strategies) for portfolio of hotels during their pre-opening phase. These hotels include all Marriott brands and new brand acquisitions located in the US & Canada. The Manager, Pre-Openings RM will take the revenue leader role prior to the hotel being available for sale in MARSHA, Marriott.com, and other pricing engines through turnover to an on-going revenue management team. This role’s responsibilities may include on property training as well as remote and virtual webinar training.  This role will support hotels that may also include complex group strategies and have total hotel revenue management in place, including catering and function space revenue maximization. The Manager, Pre-Openings RM will report to the Senior Manager, Team Leader, Openings Revenue Management US+CAN.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in the revenue management, sales and marketing, or related professional area.
  • Experience using computer hardware and software specific to role (e.g., One Yield, MARSHA, MarRFP, HPP, MRDW, eFAST, EMPOWER Reservations, EMPOWER Group & Inventory, Opera, CITY, FSPMS, FOSSE, LightSpeed, etc.).
  • One Yield Certified

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with and ability to facilitate job functions and responsibilities of on-property Group Housing and Reservation agents (including modifying reservations, building/managing group blocks and managing queues in MARSHA)
  • Experience and knowledge working within multiple Marriott Brands in the revenue management discipline
  • Experience with exhibiting effective public speaking, written communication, presentation and facilitation skills

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working independently to oversee the coordination of revenue management functions by collaborating with hotel ownership, above property and property leaders to maximize revenue for Pre-Opening hotels.
  • Responsible for leading the end-to-end activation and seamless integration of Marriott’s Revenue Management Systems across Pre-Opening hotels, ensuring optimal pricing strategies and system readiness at opening.
  • Responsible for supporting multiple simultaneous hotel openings across diverse markets, showcasing exceptional multitasking capabilities and cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless project execution during the pre-opening process.
  • Responsible for ensuring Pre-Opening hotels within your individual funnel are properly selling across all channels (including OTA, MARSHA, Marriott.com)
  • Manage and execute regular updates to High Performance Product (HPP) pricing, ensuring accuracy, alignment with hotel team and their market trends, and compliance with internal pricing strategies and financial targets.
  • Ensure goals of hotels meet and exceed individual on the books goals by influencing owners, franchise groups and hotel management teams through Marriott/brand revenue management strategies
  • Be knowledgeable of and keep up-to-date on total hotel revenue management concepts, processes, and strategies (including trends, account management, pricing, and inventory management).
  • Conduct regular monthly conference calls (i.e. Revenue and/or Opening/Conversion Update Calls) to monitor conversion or opening action plans and pre/post-opening revenue generation, to ensure that assigned revenue tasks are completed to achieve Revenue and Profit goals.
  • Provide virtual EMPOWER/ResApp and balancing training to Group Housing, Reservations, Revenue Management and Front Office Leadership teams during full-service hotel openings and conversions as needed.
  • Educate owners, franchise groups, General Managers, and Revenue Managers on revenue management effective tools, resources and processes that support the establishment and consistency of Pre-Opening Revenue Management efforts.
  • Manage relationships with hotel stakeholders, which will improve adherence to standards and foster a desire to grow Marriott Hotel brands.
  • Coordinate, implement and lead work and projects as assigned.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
