About The Position

As a Welder, you will perform advanced welding tasks to fabricate and assemble metal structures and components according to engineering specifications. This role requires proficiency in MIG, TIG, flux core, and stick welding techniques, as well as the ability to interpret blueprints and follow detailed weld procedures. You will work with carbon, stainless, and aluminium steels, ensuring high-quality welds that meet both structural and aesthetic standards. Responsibilities include operating various fabrication tools, inspecting welds for accuracy, and adhering to safety protocols. Welder II team members may also assist in training entry-level welders and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This position is in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED, required, with relevant experience, and:
  • Must pass Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), if PAPR is required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience using multiple welding and cutting processes
  • Manufacturing experience required; industry background preferred
  • Proficient in MIG welding and oxyacetylene torch use
  • Skilled in basic math and tape measure reading
  • Experienced with hand tools, drill/saw machinery, and overhead crane operation
  • Regularly exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally; 30 lbs of force frequently
  • Stand or walk for 80% of the workday
  • Perform frequent physical activities: balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive hand motions
  • Maintain visual acuity for operating vehicles and heavy equipment
  • Communicate effectively through speech and hearing
  • Must wear PPE: steel toe boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs
  • Exposure to outdoor weather, extreme heat or cold, loud noise, and vibration
  • Work near hazards: moving machinery, vehicles, electrical currents, and chemicals
  • Encounter atmospheric conditions: fumes, dust, gases, odors, and poor ventilation
  • Operate in confined spaces such as narrow aisles or passageway
  • Standing, walking, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and balancing on varied surfaces
  • Reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects using upper body strength
  • Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers for precision tasks
  • Clear verbal expressions and active listening to convey and receive detailed instructions
  • Adequate hearing to distinguish sounds and spoken communication in a work environment

Responsibilities

  • Experience with non-code structural welding and D1.1 code or ASME Section VII vessel welding
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and follow detailed weld procedures
  • Skilled in multiple welding processes: MIG, flux core, TIG, stick, and sub-arc
  • Proficient in operating grinders, plasma cutters, drill presses, and other fabrication tools
  • Strong proficiency in carbon steel welding; familiar with stainless steel welding
  • Assemble and weld parts with precision using clamps, bolts, and tack welds
  • Plan layouts and welding sequences for structural integrity and safety
  • Inspect and correct welds to meet quality standards
  • Use measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances
  • Perform routine maintenance and complete preventive checklists
  • Support material handling, loading/unloading, and workstation supply
  • Assist team leaders and train others as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout shift
  • Crosstrain across departments to expand skillset
  • Ability to use and operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, and electric
