About The Position

The Fleet Technician II performs operations, technical and administrative duties for the Fleet Services Bureau. The Fleet Technician II is a member who possesses all the requisite knowledge; skills and abilities incumbent upon the position of an entry level Fleet Technician I. The most important and essential job function of the position is attitude which includes the following: interacting positively and cooperating with co-workers, responding politely to customers, working as a team member, functioning under intense time pressure and responding in a positive manner to supervision. The Fleet Technician II shall perform any other duties and tasks that may be required and shall have the physical, mental and emotional abilities to perform the essential job duties of the position.

Requirements

  • Must have obtained and maintained the requirements of Fleet Technician I
  • Must possess and maintain certifications in the following areas: EVT L1-Law Enforcement Vehicle Installation ASE G1-Auto Maintenance and Light Repair ASE A5-Brakes
  • Must attain sixteen (16) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) on an annual basis through online or classroom instruction
  • Knowledge of : Safety procedures

  • Knowledge of : PCSO policy and procedures
  • Knowledge of : Office supplies
  • Knowledge of : Diagnostic equipment
  • Knowledge of : Appropriate forms

  • Perform collision damage repair
  • Perform shop maintenance
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment
  • Loan out vehicles
  • Perform emergency equipment repair and installation
  • Prepare vehicles for release
  • Perform welding
  • Maintain stock and inventory
  • Perform removal of equipment
  • Maintain spare units
  • Perform maintenance on other equipment
  • Function as on call technician
  • Process work orders
  • Prepares collision damage estimates
  • Respond during natural disasters
  • Install and remove decals on equipment
  • Work flexible hours
  • Perform automotive maintenance and repair
