Fleet Service Writer
About The Position
Saber Power Services, a portfolio company of Greenbelt Capital Partners, is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets. Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad. We are seeking an experienced Fleet Service Writer to support a large, mixed fleet maintenance operation in Rosharon, TX. This role is responsible for creating and managing repair orders, coordinating shop workflow with technicians, maintaining accurate documentation in Mitchell TeamWorks, and ensuring timely communication to keep our fleet safe, compliant, and on the road. Our fleet includes trucks, SUVs, bucket trucks, digger trucks, crane trucks, material trailers, tool trailers, and some tracked equipment. We complete approximately 70% of repairs in-house and outsource the remainder through Holman.
Requirements
- Experience as a Service Writer, Service Advisor, or Fleet Maintenance Coordinator Mitchell TeamWorks experience (highly preferred)
- Fleet maintenance experience with mixed vehicles and equipment
- Familiarity with outsourced repair workflows (Holman or similar provider)
- Understanding of PM programs, DOT-related repairs, and trailer tracking
- Strong computer skills and comfort working in a fast-paced maintenance environment
- Ability to write clear repair stories and document technician findings
- Strong communication skills with technicians, drivers, and supervisors
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple open work orders
Responsibilities
- Create, track, and manage repair orders in Mitchell TeamWorks
- Receive repair requests and document concerns clearly and accurately
- Assign work to technicians and help coordinate shop flow/priorities
- Maintain accurate notes, labor entries, and repair history
- Add parts to repair orders (parts ordering handled by Parts Manager)
- Communicate repair status updates and expected completion times to operations
- Coordinate outsourced repairs through Holman, including: Repair approvals and documentation Tracking status and downtime Ensuring invoices/repair notes are captured properly
- Support preventative maintenance scheduling and compliance documentation
- Help ensure repairs are completed efficiently and safely with minimal downtime
- Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
