About The Position

City Rise Safety is a well-established and growing company that provides high-quality traffic control safety services to construction job sites across California. They focus on maintaining a safe work environment for construction crews, employees, and the public. The Fleet Service Technician is responsible for maintaining, inspecting, and repairing company vehicles and traffic control equipment to support safe and efficient operations. This position reports to the Fleet Manager in their Fremont location and works closely with Fleet Mechanics. Occasional travel throughout the Northern California service territory is required. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities. This role is best suited for someone with experience in general fleet preventative maintenance (preferred), along with familiarity using standard shop tools and diagnostic equipment. This role is essential in ensuring fleet assets remain operational, compliant, and ready to support field operations.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a vehicle service technician or similar role
  • Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record

  • Proficiency with computers, including Excel, Outlook, and fleet management software

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in general fleet preventative maintenance (preferred)
  • Familiarity using standard shop tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Experience using diagnostic scanners preferred
  • SAE certifications preferred but not required
  • Experience with traffic control equipment (PCMS boards, light towers, arrow boards) is a plus but not required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid services
  • Conduct vehicle inspections, including 40-point safety checks
  • Inspect, service, and replace brake systems and tires
  • Perform basic diagnostics and minor vehicle repairs
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify appropriate solutions
  • Create, track, and complete routine maintenance work orders using fleet maintenance technology
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
  • Manage inventory of parts and supplies
  • Assist with purchasing parts and materials as directed
  • Support maintenance and basic repair of traffic control equipment (as needed)
