About The Position

Fleet & Safety Manager is responsible for leading and improving the company’s fleet safety program across all locations. In this role, you will develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures that reduce risk, ensure compliance, and support safe daily operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years in fleet safety, transportation compliance, or risk management
  • Experience service-based or multi-location operations strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to influence frontline employees and operational leaders
  • Strong working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and state safety regulations
  • Familiarity with MVR monitoring, driver qualification requirements, and fleet compliance programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Direct, effective communicator with the ability to hold others accountable
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in the field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience. CPL or CFSP Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and applicable state regulations
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation including driver qualification files, vehicle inspection records, and incident reports.
  • Partner with operations leadership to hold drivers and managers accountable to safety standards
  • Provide clear expectations, coaching, and escalation when standards are not met, including authority to remove unsafe drivers or vehicles from service
  • Design and deliver safety training programs for drivers and field teams, including onboarding, ongoing education, and corrective training following incidents. Ensure 100% completion and comprehension of required safety protocols
  • Lead all accident and incident investigations, identifying root cause and implementing corrective actions.
  • Track trends and proactively address recurring issues to reduce preventable incidents
  • Conduct regular field audits, ride-alongs, and site visits to ensure real-world compliance with safety standards. Provide immediate feedback and partner with leaders on corrective action plans
  • Track and report on key safety metrics (e.g., accident rates, MVR violations, compliance gaps). Use data to drive continuous improvement and inform leadership decisions
  • Work closely with Operations, HR, and Leadership to integrate safety into hiring, onboarding, performance management, and daily operations
