NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly, efficiently, and transparently to instill public confidence and encourage compliance while providing exceptional customer service. DOF's Treasury and Payment Services Division is responsible for overseeing all City payment websites, the payment processing of tax returns, property recording forms, parking violation programs, and the collection of delinquent accounts, and oversees the agency’s management of the City’s cash balances and its relationships with banking institutions. Treasury and Payment Services is also responsible for collecting outstanding violations issued by City agencies and adjudicated by the Environmental Control Board. Payments, Billing, and Refunds is responsible for processing payments for property taxes and property-related charges, business and excise taxes, and parking and camera violations. The division is responsible for communicating amounts due, maintaining the quality of departmental records, and providing customer service to individuals seeking information on making payments or receiving refunds. Payments, Billing, and Refunds perform account adjustments and respond to refund inquiries from the public. The Rental Program is for businesses, such as car rental or leasing companies, which rent or lease vehicles to individuals other than the DMV registered owner. Businesses are given access to web-based reports of their unpaid tickets and have 54 days to submit the correct name and address of the person responsible for the ticket(s). The Department of Finance will then transfer the liability of the ticket from the vehicle owner to the verified ticket recipient. The Fleet Program helps companies to manage their parking tickets by providing web-based reports of outstanding tickets. Participants can create bills and request hearings online. They can enroll in the Fleet Program if a business has one or more commercial vehicles registered or leased under the business' name and address. All parking debt must be satisfied before plates are enrolled. There is no fee to participate in this program. The Fleet/Rental Program Unit is seeking a responsible individual to serve as a Fleet/Rental Program Processor, in the Fleet and Rental Unit. With latitude for independent initiative, the selected candidate will process the transfer of parking ticket liability from lessors to lessees, process enrollment and termination applications and resolve problems escalated to you by customers. Reporting to the Fleet/Rental Program Supervisor, the selected candidate’s specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
