In this role, you will be working as a member of our distribution center team. We are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible Fleet Part Specialist to join our dynamic and dedicated team. Specifically, as a Parts Specialist I, you will use your ability to multitask, and provide exceptional customer service to:

Requirements

  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Experience Requirement: One (1) year of stockroom experience in automotive or light/heavy-duty equipment repair, including parts identification receiving, stocking, issuing and maintaining inventory records of automotive and heavy-duty equipment parts and equipment.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
  • License/Certifications: This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.

Responsibilities

  • Operate fleet vehicles with a focus on safety, adhering to traffic laws and regulations at various times of the day or night.
  • Verify fleet vehicle parts being transferred from distribution center to various storerooms by confirming the accuracy of part numbers and quantities.
  • Ensure all part orders are picked up from vendors accurately and by comparing the vendor invoices to requests. Verify all parts have been billed, quantity is correct, and tax has not been charged.
  • Unpack and inspects received parts to verify their quality and quantity against packing list or invoice.
  • Perform daily inventory counts on any stock parts pulled and put away to ensure inventory is accurate at all camps. Reports any discrepancies to management.
  • Pick up and deliver parts and vendor orders to storerooms as well as pick up all returns, batteries, and paperwork from storerooms and deliver to designated storeroom or warehouse.
  • Maintain security, organization, and cleanliness of distribution center, storerooms, storage areas, and city vehicle.
  • Perform pre-trip and post trip inspections of vehicle at the beginning and end of vehicle use to ensure vehicle is in proper working order, and there is no damage to the vehicle.
  • Assist with various projects within the department and city wide (i.e. assembling shelving, moving stock part locations, label aisles and shelf locations, etc.)
  • Operate a forklift, and utilize various tools including pallet jacks, carts, and dollies for the efficient movement and storage of stock, supplies, and special-order items.
  • Stock shelves in distribution center and various other storerooms across the city to maintain organized and up-to-date inventory.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support operations within the distribution center and across departments.
  • Employees may be re-deployed to work in other capacities in their own agencies or in other City agencies to support core functions of the City during a City-wide emergency declared by the Mayor.
