About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising the trucking operations of a Regional Terminal. Specific responsibilities include maintaining that Tyson trucks are running at legal DOT specifications and oversee personnel on daily paperwork to ensure correct payment from our trucking customers. Other responsibilities include training qualified drivers, ensuring quality service is provided to all Tyson customers, and making sure the terminal meets required budget figures. Other duties also include providing drivers with new information on rules or guidelines, computing figures for our driver bonus system, communicating with plants to provide them with any help, working closely with managers to help work out any problems that arise, coordinate all activities in assigned department that would have impact on customer service through scheduling delivery and service of products; develop training opportunities within assigned areas for managers as well as drivers; performing other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 6 plus years’ experience preferred; special knowledge in Transportation and Logistics.
  • Computer Skills: Standard computer skills; knowledge and use of all systems used in Tyson Transportation.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Supervisory: This position is responsible for managing two or more groups of personnel who perform different tasks and activities within a single department.
  • Travel: 5-10 domestic trips per year.
