The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that all equipment functions properly and is regularly maintained. This includes fueling, oiling, lubricating, and cleaning equipment, as well as performing regular preventative maintenance to ensure operational safety. The role requires keeping equipment and maintenance logs current, reading and understanding blueprints, and operating various power tools, hand tools, and other shop equipment. The mechanic must adhere to strict safety regulations, such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes, monitor machinery usage and temperature, and possess strong mechanical skills for parts assembly.
