About The Position

The North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections (NCDAC) is the largest state agency and is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons, Correction Enterprises, Division of Community Corrections, and Reentry Programs and Services. The NCDAC / Support Services / Transportation Section is recruiting for an energized and collaborative Fleet Manager to be a part of the Transportation Team. This position has a duty station at Central Supply Warehouse, Raleigh, NC and will be tasked with planning, organizing and directing work, fiscal projections, analyses and reporting as well as preforming other duties and tasks as required to meet mission requirements. The Fleet Manager position primarily responsibility is the efficient and cost-effective operation of DAC’s Fleet of vehicles, ensuring the fleet runs smoothly and safely. The position is responsible for directly managing the DAC Fleet/Transportation Section. The position oversees/manages the Fleet/Transportation sections, directly supervising (2) Fleet Support Specialists and indirectly supervising (8) full-time employees, (3) temporary employees, and 8-12 paid offenders. This Transportation Section is responsive to the various Fleet Coordinators who represent the various interests of divisions within DAC. Responsibilities also include the following: Managing the 6,000+ DAC vehicle fleet. Provide monthly reporting metrics on vehicle assignment counts, vehicle performance trending, vehicle maintenance costs, and vehicle mileage reporting compliance. Oversee the Adult Correction GPS vehicle tracking system (Geotab). Oversee security fabrication/installation and associated material, cost, ordering and projected needs for future installs. Requirements

Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five (5) years of experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
