About The Position

The starting rate for this position is $21.36, incremental increases are earned through developing skills and qualifications. Summary The Fleet Maintenance Tech is responsible for performing routine and adhoc maintenance to a fleet of diesel trucks.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license required
• Vehicle mechanics experience – 6 mos. Minimum required

Nice To Haves

• Diesel mechanic certification – preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular maintenance on diesel exhaust emission systems, and perform routine truck maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck/trailer equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Power steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions and road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly
• Manage parts inventory and equipment provided on a service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
• Maintain current knowledge of regulations and perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, federal regulations and forms, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT
• Assists less experienced mechanics with company procedures and tractor/trailer repairs and maintenance
